Innovation Trends

According to a report int the British Media, David Willets, the universities Minister has admitted that tensions still exist with home office ministers over plans to curb th enumber of international students. Willets told the Common home affairs select committee that he had three meetings to discuss differences in the detail reforms to the students immigration system. willetts revealed to MPs taht the consultation launched three months ago to reduce overseas student numbers by upto 1,20,000 (40%) had provoked more than 30000 responses. The 3,00,000 students who come to the UK each year contribute more than 2 billion pound sterling in fees to higher education funding and accout for about two-thirds of migrants entering Britain.

Peace March to Sensitize people on Gender Awareness on International Women's Day

The students of CentumU Institute of Management and Creative Studies -www.centumu.edu.in adopted an innovative way to celebrate the International Women's Day on 8th March 2011. The young and dynamic MBA students prepared various placards, banners and intelligent messages regarding respective women, respecting gender equality, female foeticide and various other issues and agenda related to violence against women, etc. The students took this initiative with a view to contribute to the social cause to prove that they are intellectually superior and are in a better position to contribute to social cause apart from being intelligent and productive with the multi-dimensional skills and knowledge which they are going to gain. The MBA students at CentumU have been contributing to the various social causes in one form or the other by contributing their overall efforts to bring a radical change in the society and the social transformation process.

Jagan Institute of Management Studies hosted an International Conference

Jagan Institute of Management Studies hosted an international conference on 'Entrepreneurship and Innovation: The New Age Mantra' recently. The aim of the event was to highlight the need and significance of the future trends entrepreneurship and innovation. Successful cases of social entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, innovations, and rural markets, eco-friendly manufacturing and products, innovative IT enabled services, etc. were discussed int the conference. The day long conference was attended by professors, scholars, industry experts, and entrepreneurs.

Institute of Energy Management and Research (IEMR) is offering a two-year PG programme in energy management. Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks in any discipline from a recognised university are eligible for admission. IEMR selections will be based on the scores of CAT, XAT, MAT, or GMAT Taken any time after November 2009 (GMAT scores from May 2008 will be deemed valid). The final selection will be based on a weighted score of the selected tests, educational background, professional experience and personality evaluation.

Collaboraive Efforts

AVK Group of Institutions recently signed an MOU with Kampala University, Uganda to develop academic and educational co-operation in order to nurture a conducive relationship between the two countries. The collaborative activities include exchange of Faculty and administrative staff, conducting research projects, lectures, organising symposiums, conferences, joint publications and disseminations of academic material, joint training on academic programmes and exchange of academic information and materials.
